Is it possible to make Recurring gifts ongoing on the donation form & still provide flexibility with the schedule?

To make the recurring gift ongoing, I selected the Specific option but that does not work well for the annual option.
I would like for the donor to be able to select a date they want their card to be charged annually, but it appears to be an option that is not flexible for the end user. Would love to hear if anyone else was able to find a work around for this.

100% Agree. It seems odd we can only have an open ended date for a recurring gift if we force donors into our preset options. We have several donors who want to make an annual gift of $x dollars.
