When users register for an event, they only see the start-date under the title of the event. If the event is longer than one day, they won't see the end-date. This can potentially be confusing and lead some people to think that the date for the event is wrong. Thus, a start-date and end-date (if there is one) should be included underneath the event title on the registration page.
