Include fees for donors to pay to offset cost of doing business

My organization has runners in the TCS New York City Marathon. As a result we have to use Crowdrise as a platform to receive donations on behalf of our runners.

A neat perk with Crowdrise is if I make a donation, I can also pay the fees that are incurred for the transaction. If that were possible in Netcommunity we could recoup a lot in lost fees by asking donors to cover it.

We would also like the ability to ask donors to donate the credit card transaction fees.

I have had donors ask for this as well - Network for Good does this.

Yes!  We aren't necessarily worried out recouping the fees ourselves, but the clients are actually the ones asking for this.  This functionality is present for a lot of other charities, so they are expectant that we can do it to.  I work for a foundation, and we provide online giving services to churches and ministries all across the country (we provide the donation form, do all the processing, and they end up with the money).  This is one of the top things they ask for when they sign up for our online giving service because most of their donors really do want them to get the full amount and are willing to fork out a little extra to cover the fees.
