This is yet another poorly-thought-out, poorly-implemented, what-were-they-thinking ideas. If I turn on Event Capacity for an event registration, that turns on a timer, that only gives the registrant 10 minutes to register. Not 10 minutes in addition to typing time - 10 minutes TOTAL! So as the person is trying to find their friends' addresses, for their additional tickets, the timer is going tick-tock, tick-tock.
KB112252:
How do you disable the timer?
Event Capacity limits the total number of registrations that can be purchased for a specific event and implements the timer so that registrations are not held up in the shopping cart if the registration is aborted. This makes those registrations available for other potential participants to register as quickly as possible.
*NOTE: The timer is hardcoded and the time allotted cannot be extended or reduced.
To disable the timer, you will need to turn off Event capacity for the event on the event registration form.
Can we disable it? NO.
Can we change the time? NO.
Solution: DISABLE EVENT CAPACITY (seriously???)
Reason for implementation: from personal experience, if two people try to register at the same time, even if they complete their registration minutes apart, the system may let the second registrant in, even if they exceed capacity.
Still an annoying problem 2+ years later.
It would be a nice feature if it were editable in any way. Instead it just means we have to take phone calls and process registrations manually from irritated users who wasted the last 20 minutes of their life.
