As of right now when a donor gives via Online Express they receive an email automatically. We, the organizations, have the ability to choose the wording of those emails BUT in the case where Blackbaud experiences an issue the donor could receive a letter that has errors.
Take note of the attached example. Because the donor inputs an "&" in the first name field the salutation often prints incorrectly. This is a major issue where the image of our organization is involved.
If we had the option to turn off the automatic emails we would be able to control what the donor receives so in instances such as I mentioned above, we could turn it off then turn it back on once the error has been corrected within Blackbaud.
